No Oven Turkish Bread (Print-Friendly Recipe)

Soft Turkish bread made easily without oven, ideal for wraps or dipping.

# Ingredients List:

→ Dough

01 - 4 cups bread flour or all-purpose flour
02 - 2/3 cup warm milk
03 - 2/3 cup warm water
04 - 1.5 tablespoons instant dry yeast
05 - 1 tablespoon sugar
06 - 0.8 tablespoon salt

→ Topping (optional)

07 - 20 g melted unsalted butter or olive oil
08 - Chopped parsley

# How to Make It:

01 - Combine warm milk, warm water, sugar, and instant dry yeast in a container. Stir thoroughly until evenly mixed.
02 - Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well, then knead by hand until the dough is no longer sticky and the surface feels smooth.
03 - Cover the dough and allow it to rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.
04 - Divide the dough into six equal portions. Shape each into a round ball and cover with a plastic bag to rest.
05 - Using a rolling pin, flatten each ball to a round disc approximately 7 inches (18 cm) in diameter and 0.2 inches (5 mm) thick.
06 - Heat a thick-bottomed pan over medium heat on the stovetop.
07 - Place a dough disc on the hot pan. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip to the other side.
08 - When the bread puffs up like a balloon, reduce heat to low. Cover the bread with a cloth to retain moisture while finishing cooking.
09 - Brush the cooked bread with melted butter or olive oil and sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired.

# Extra Information:

01 - Using a thick pan prevents the bread from failing to rise properly during cooking.
02 - Extra portions freeze well and can be used as wrappers for dishes like chicken shawarma or as dipping bread.
