# Ingredients:

→ Drink Base

01 - 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled
02 - 7 cups filtered water, divided
03 - 6 tablespoons (17.5 grams) loose black tea
04 - ¾ cup pure cane sugar
05 - ¼ cup fresh squeezed lemon juice

# Steps:

01 - Clean and hull strawberries.
02 - Place all strawberries in a blender with 1 cup of water. Blend until completely smooth.
03 - In a saucepan, bring the remaining 6 cups of water to a boil. Add black tea leaves and steep for 5-8 minutes. Use a French sieve or brewing bag for easier removal, or strain afterward.
04 - Remove tea leaves. Add sugar to the hot tea and stir until completely dissolved.
05 - Add the lemon juice and strawberry puree to the sweetened tea.
06 - Stir all ingredients together and pour through a fine mesh strainer into serving pitcher.
07 - Serve over ice and garnish with strawberry, mint or lemon slice.

# Notes:

01 - You can use any black tea, but high grown varieties like Nilgiri and Ceylon (Sri Lanka) teas work especially well with fruit infusions.
02 - For an alternative preparation method, you can make a strawberry simple syrup by simmering the strawberries with one cup of water and sugar in a saucepan until liquefied, then strain into the brewed tea mixture.
